Founded by Jerome T. Stevens, a Veteran and Visionary Leader who is a passionate in ending homelessness among veterans in North Carolina. We have one of the highest rates in the nation – 85% – for transitioning veterans out of homelessness.
Headquartered in Durham, NC, “JTS Housing for Homeless Veterans” is quickly becoming a significant provider of support services for veterans. We offer a case management approach to address the “total veteran” incorporating job training and employment services, health and wellness, and supportive services ranging from transportation to legal advice.
When it comes to helping veterans, we don’t just work to address their immediate needs; we give them the tools to rebuild their lives, helping them to regain self-sufficiency and reconnect with their family, friends, and community. Our clients tell us that we save lives.
Jerome T. Stevens Housing for Homeless Veterans is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to a single purpose: To be there for our veterans in time of need with the ultimate mission to end homelessness among veterans, and to help our veterans regain self-sufficiency.
Our mission is achieved through the provision of holistic supportive services, including housing, job training, case management, food security, and health and wellness.
This mission is carried forward by providing free assistance to veterans in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service and provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other community agencies.
